Greekgodx makes racist noises
What was the streamer doing? In one clip, Antonatos walks past a family who is talking to each other. Then he suddenly made noises, which some interpreted as meaning that he was making fun of them.
At first, it was circulated on Twitter that the family was of Asian descent and the community felt that Greekgodx’s noises sounded like he was trying to mimic them in a derogatory way.
Afterwards, however, it turned out that it was a Greek family that also communicated in their language. Despite this, many considered Greekgodx’s behavior to be racism, saying he was trying to silly imitate people of Asian descent.
“Why should I be racist towards people who raised me?”
What did Greekgodx say? He was stunned by the allegations and said he was just making the noise for fun and all of a sudden. There was no deeper meaning behind it and he asked what was wrong with the world if something like that was considered racist (via Twitter).
He also said that it was racist to assume that the family was of Asian descent based on his noises. “My family members are Asian, why should I be racist to people who raised me,” he added (via Twitter).
Although Greekgodx lives in England, he has Greek roots.
What did Twitch do? They didn’t hesitate and banned the streamer. Neither the platform nor Greekgodx itself has revealed how long this should last.
His other ban was not lifted until July 1st. He got it because he probably twerked on the stream and shared his wisdom about women. You can read all about it here: Twitch bans streamers who explain for 55 seconds that their wife belongs in the kitchen
