Twitch: A German football expert gave tips for the Bundesliga

One of the most famous FIFA streamers made his annual season predictions before the 23/24 Bundesliga season. He predicted the clubs’ placings and speculated about the surprises of the season. Now he has reacted to his predictions on Twitch and developed a game with the viewers at his own expense.

What kind of football expert is that? Simon Schildgen is better known to most football and FIFA fans under his streaming name “GamerBrother” (click here to go to his Twitch channel). The content creator has been producing new weekly videos about FIFA and now EA FC for 11 years now.

The influencer from Herne has also made a name for himself in the real football scene and has been hosting his own football talk show “At Broski” for two years. Once a month he talks to former and current coaches and footballers as well as other experts about current topics from the world of football.

As an expert, he has been giving tips for the upcoming season before each season for several years. You can read here whether he was able to live up to his reputation as a football expert with his predictions for the 23/24 Bundesliga season.

Expert rates his tips, rewards viewers for his fails

What was the reaction to his season predictions? Meanwhile, GamerBrother also has a reputation to lose as an expert. To underline this, he developed a kind of game with his viewers based on the reaction to his predictions for the 23/24 Bundesliga season.

He laid down the following rules:

  • 5 free subs on Twitch for his viewers: for a “stupid” prediction
  • 10 free subs on Twitch for his viewers: for a “really stupid” prediction
  • 25 free subs on Twitch for his viewers: if the ranking of a team deviates more than 10 places from his prediction or the individual rating of a player was off
  • He can collect 5-10 subs if he is (almost) right with a tip
  • What is meant by free “subs” on Twitch? On the Twitch platform, you can financially support a streamer with a subscription, or sub for short. After activating such a subscription, your options for getting in touch with the streamer are expanded (exclusive chat for members only, special emotes). The cheapest offer for a monthly sub is 3.99 euros.

Below we have summarized the penalized failures for you. We have focused on the most expensive sanctions. First you will read the expert’s incorrect tip and then the actual result.

These expert tips were fails (25 subs to his viewers):

  • Cologne coach Baumgart will bring Cologne back to their maximum so that they will have nothing to do with relegation – Cologne fired the coach after a lack of success and was relegated at the end of the season
  • Stuttgart finishes in 12th place – Stuttgart played an outstanding season and became runner-up
  • Mönchengladbach is in a much better position with coach Seoane than last season and is in 8th place – Gladbach played a disappointing season and even had to worry about staying in the league, finishing in 14th place; the coach is also heavily criticized
  • Union Berlin has made strong transfers and landed in 5th place – Union had to worry about staying in the league until the last matchday, just finishing in 15th place
  • Dortmund’s new signing Rami Bensebaini is the best transfer of the season – Bensebaini disappointed in the first half of the season at Dortmund and played no role in the second half of the season, and was even replaced by a winter transfer
  • The expert himself classifies the relatively high number of complete failures as follows: “That’s a 0 out of 10 prediction. It’s all wrong.” Even people who don’t watch football would have managed to make such a prediction.

You can watch the full video on YouTube.

How much did his failures cost him? In the end, 305 subs were given away to his viewers on Twitch. Based on the 3.99 euros for the cheapest monthly sub offer, GamerBrother has a total of around 1200 euros that he gives to his viewers for his fails.

That’s a hefty loss. But the streamer may have been even more annoyed about his internet connection: Twitch streamer says the German internet cost him thousands of euros and he has to resort to expensive military equipment

Viewers make fun of: “Gladbach call was criminal”

In particular, the expert’s belief in the Borussia Mönchengladbach team backfired financially. In his forecast, he not only rated Gladbach much better, but even dubbed them the “surprise of the season”.

In the comments under his reaction, many viewers made fun of the assessment of Gladbach. This is proven by the two top comments under his video:

  • niklasblx writes: “The Gladbach call was criminal.” (via YouTube).
  • Helmhammerhand1709 classifies the Gladbach prediction as follows: “Broski believed in Gladbach more than any Gladbach fan.” (via Youtube)
  • He himself cannot understand why he was drawn into the Gladbach calls, which almost made it seem as though he was a fan of the club. The streamer is an avowed Schalke fan. GamerBrother also reacted in disbelief recently when he saw a club’s retro jersey in FC 24 Ultimate Team: Well-known streamer discovers new retro jersey from RB Leipzig and freaks out
