To your brushes! Exit classic manicures, fantasy – and kitsch – invite themselves to the tips of your nails to help you show love and tenderness to your loved one. For Valentine’s Day, there’s no question of doing lace, with a real craze for regressive patterns, hearts and twists at the top, sequins, and colors symbolizing passion. Inspirations that already accumulate tens of millions of views on social networks.

From New Year’s Eve to Halloween to National Day, manicures now fit any celebration. And Valentine’s Day, if it divides, will not escape it this year. Influencers and professional make-up artists have been following each other for several weeks on social networks to present their manicures and other nail arts entirely dedicated to the celebration of lovers. More kitsch is difficult. And yet, it must be recognized, it is a real success with tens of millions of views, and a research interest which is skyrocketing for what are similar to real works of art as the Valentine’s Day.

The platform SpaSeekers* looked at the popularity of these manicures placed under the sign of love, in order to highlight the most popular. Contrary to what one might think, it is not the hearts or the passion red that dominate the trends, although well placed, but the ‘swirl nails’, propelled in just a few weeks to the top of these manicure inspirations. With more than 56 million TikTok views and a 45% increase in Google searches, this trend translates into color swirls, sorts of colorful ripples, which can only bring a touch of whimsy to a look.

    Kitsch to the core

More classic, it’s a French manicure, but in a pink version, which takes second place among inspirations for Valentine’s Day. A trend of the most romantic which saw its search interest climb by 83% on Google, and generated nearly 2 million views on the Chinese social network. The red nail polish – a must-have – completes this special celebration of love podium, with a 24% increase in search interest and some 3 million views on TikTok. At first glance, these inspirations might seem wise, if not classic, but the rest of the grading leaves room for – much – more whimsy.

This is followed by nail arts decorated with hearts in a white and black version (+24% and nearly 450,000 views), French manicures decorated with hearts (+504% and 20,000 views), shaded nail arts covered with glitter (+22% and 400,000 views), and the French manicure all dressed in red (+22% and 330,000 views). Note that in tenth position, the smiley is a key trend on pink-tinted nails. An original inspiration for Valentine’s Day, but no less whimsical. All that remains is to choose the one that will meet your expectations, and will contribute to conveying the desired message to the loved one.
