Sweden won the training match against Moldova.
But Olof Lundh still does not hold back in his criticism of Janne Andersson.
“It was just strange and a bit of a shame,” Lundh writes on Fotbollskanalen.
On Thursday evening, Sweden took on Moldova at the National Arena in a training match. A b-team-emphasized Sweden took the lead early on Jesper Karlssonand was ultimately able to take home the victory with 3–1.
Lundh’s criticism
Karlsson’s goal came already in the ninth minute, and the winger was able to add to his goal account with his second goal of the evening with just over a quarter of an hour left in the match.
Sweden’s second goalscorer was Gustav Lagerbielke, who headed the ball in after almost 20 minutes played. With that, the Celtic player scored his first goal in the senior national team.

The match’s attendance figure was 10,097, which is better than the expected figure of around 7,000, which was reported before the match. But it is still a low water mark for the Swedish national team, as the even worse crowd figure they had was 9,876 against Slovakia in October 2018.
The TV profile and the writer Olof Lundh was in place on the stand, and is wondering if it wasn’t fiddled with a bit to avoid a bottom listing.
“One wonders if the football association used Fifa’s audience counters from the World Cup in Qatar. Because it was very, very sparse in the stands,” writes Lundh on Fotbollskanalen.
Janne questions
Before the match, the national team captain has Jan Andersson received criticism for his behavior at press conferences, when among other things he made fun of reporters’ questions and did not want to answer.
Before the training match against Moldova, Janne also did not want to share the starting eleven prematurely. Something Lundh questions.
“Confederation captain Andersson is hardly on any major charm offensive. Before one of Swedish football’s coldest matches, he didn’t even want to invite the starting eleven. What was he afraid of? That Belgium is going to tear Sweden apart from it? No, it was just strange and a bit of a shame,” he writes.

Despite Sweden winning Thursday night’s match, the football profile criticizes Janne Andersson and the national team.
“Now it is sadly icy around a team and a national team captain who charmed most people for many years and where there were also successes. This Thursday at Friends Arena, national team captain Andersson got to celebrate goal after goal like in the olden days, but the framing with Friends Arena’s second worst audience figure of just over 10,000 gossiped about the situation. It’s rarely pretty when a national team captain has to be separated from his job due to a lack of results.”
