Young Duplantis
He was only 15 years old, but even then you noticed that he was going to be something out of the ordinary.
– I sat and thought the other day about the first time I met you. It was 2015, it was the Stadium and it was Finnkampen. I walk up to a thin 15-year-old who looks completely destroyed on the track. I haven’t really seen what has happened but I can see that you are very sad. So I’ll go ahead and give you some well-chosen words like: “You’re young, things will go well and no stress,” says Tornéus in the TV4 interview, which you can see below.

He was completely convinced that young Armand had failed completely and was therefore distressed. Then Michel Tornéus got to hear what had actually happened during Finnkampen 2015, see the video below.
– I think you have zeroed in and are very sad. Then I go to the leaders and say that “you have to take care of Armand because things haven’t gone well for him”, he continues.
– Then everyone looks at me and says: “Huh!? He was the best Swede and came third in the competition”.

Armand Duplantis bursts out laughing when he hears the last question and is then given the given question by the TV4 expert.
– Are you a bad loser?, Tornéus says.
– Yes… I actually am. But I’ve gotten much better at it. Now it feels like I have it a little more under control, admits Mondo.
