TV4 competition ended in tragedy – participants twist their leg

It was on Monday August 12 that the first Swedish edition of The Challenge Sweden premiered.

The competition format has had a full 29 seasons in the USA and is classified as one of the toughest competition programs available. In the Swedish season, they have gathered a group of colorful reality participants who have been in, among other things, “The Farm”, “Robinson” as well as “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette”.

And it all started quickly.

The competitions have been tough to say the least and several of the participants have injured themselves, not yet seriously.

But during Thursday’s episode, the worst of the injuries took place when the Farmen contestant Phillip Lloyd Rochester37, and the former Robinson contestant Homayon Sytesmet in a battle.

The fight started smoothly but suddenly Phillip twists the leg so badly that it breaks.

Phillip had to go straight to the hospital where he was attended to by doctors. But once back in Sweden, they had to break open the cast and operate.

– When I came to Sweden, they said I had to have surgery. The ankle was completely off, he tells Nyheter24.

But after the operation he had problems. The doctors had to open his cast again. Phillipe suffered such a severe infection that he had to stay in hospital for eight days.

Today, Phillipe is fine and has recovered, but watching the scenes from The Challenge Sweden when the injury occurs – he still finds it difficult.

– Today I feel great! Energetic, happy and strong, he concludes.
