TV4’s program director is now speaking out about environmental activists storming the stage during the finale of Let’s Dance.
“We take the incident very seriously,” writes Erik Westberg in an email to TV4 Nyheterna.
It was during Charlotte’s Kalla’s dance number that two environmental activists stormed the stage last Saturday.
Chaotic scenes unfolded as one of the activists threw green paint across the stage, the other with the banner “Save the Wetlands”, was hit in the head by the production’s camera crane.
Now TV4’s program director Erik Westberg says that he takes the incident very seriously.
“It primarily concerns safety at the workplace for production staff, participants and audience, but also safety from a publisher’s perspective with TV4 as the sender,” he writes in an email to TV4 Nyheterna.
“Becoming more common”
Furthermore, he writes that it is the responsibility of the responsible publishers to choose which expressions will be allowed to take place in the programs.
“Unfortunately, actions like this are becoming more and more common and something that we have to take into account in future productions”.
The police previously announced that three people are suspected of vandalism in connection with the stage coup, but that the classifications may change.
