(Finance) – Green light from the Antitrust Authority the guidelines of the Italian Professional Football League concerning the marketing of audiovisual sports rights relating to the 2022/2023, 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 sports seasons. This was reported by the Authority’s Bulletin published yesterday. These guidelines were filed on April 28, 2022.
The ok was decided in the light of Article 6 of Legislative Decree n.9 / 2008, according to which the Italian Professional Football League is required to predetermine the guidelines for the football competitions under its jurisdiction “for the marketing of audiovisual rights containing rules with regard to the offer and assignment of the audiovisual rights themselves, criteria for the formation of the relative packages and the additional rules “provided for by the decree in order to guarantee participants in competitive procedures” conditions of absolute fairness, transparency and non-discrimination “.
According to the Authority, the guidelines are therefore compliant with the provisions of the legislation.
