The conditions in Tuukka Taponen’s F3 debut in Belgium were challenging.

Taponen was thirteenth fastest in Friday’s qualifying, but had to start three places behind due to a grid penalty. Taponen performed well in the sprint race on a wet track, even though he had a small collision with another driver right at the first corner.
The 17-year-old Finnish promise will drive in the Spa competition with the ART team, while the team’s driver Nikola Tsolov is suspended for one race.
The sprint race was won by a Bosnian-Swede Dino Beganovic. There is still the main competition ahead on Sunday.
