(Finance) – “The Government presented a amendment to the new decree-law PNRR, the Legislative Decree n. 19/2023, to allocate 66 million euros useful for the reconstruction underway in the municipalities of Tuscany affected by the floods of November 2023. The resources will be used to activate economic measures of immediate support to the economic and social fabric towards the population and the economic and productive activities directly affected by the event, to address the most urgent needs”. This is what we read in a note released by Palazzo Chigi.
The amendment had been announced by the President of the Council of Ministers, Georgie Melons, on the occasion of the signing of the Cohesion Agreement with the President of the Giani Region on 13 March. “It was a promise we had made to the Tuscan citizens, which we had announced on the occasion of the signing of theCohesion Agreement and which we want to maintain”, declared President Meloni.
“The new resources are added to those already allocated by the Government for theTuscany emergencyequal in total to 189.7 million euros: 100 million euros of Simest non-repayable funds for compensation for direct material damage suffered by exporting companies in the affected territories; 6 million euros for damages suffered by agricultural businesses; 50 million euros for the recovery of production capacity; 25 million euros for the organization and implementation of rescue and assistance interventions for the population, as well as for the restoration of the functionality of public services and strategic network infrastructures and for other civil protection interventions; 3.7 million euros for Lucca and Massa Carrara; 5 million euros for the interventions on Livorno, Pisa, Prato, Pistoia and Florence, between November and December of last year”, specifies Palazzo Chigi in the note underlining that “with this amendment, the Government brings the resources to support the Tuscan territories to 255.7 million euros”.
“We will continue to work to provide increasingly effective and concrete responses to citizens and businesses who suffered serious damage during the flood,” concluded President Meloni.
