Turnout low for advance voting in upcoming provincial election

Just Six per cent of Eligible Voters in Ontario Cast Their Ballot Over Three Days of Advance Voting in the Upcoming Provincial Election.

Preliminary Figures released by Elections Ontario on Monday Show that 678.789 Voters Marked Ballots at Advance Polls on Feb. 20, 21 and 22, Representing 6.14 per hundred of Eligible Voters.

The Percentage was Even Lower in Brantford-Brant, with 5,390 people (4.58 per hundred of Eligible Voters) voting early.

The voting was More Robust in Haldimand-Norfolk where 7,813 people (8.10 per hundred of Eligible Voters) Cast Ballots Early.

This Year’s Advance Voting Numbers Are Down from the 2022 Provincial Election when 1.066,545 Ontario Voters (9.92 per hundred of Those Eligible) vote early over 10 days.

In 2018, 698.609 Voters (6.8 per cent) Cast Their Ballot Over Five Days of Advance Voting.

Elections Ontario Estimates Roughly 10.8 Million People are Eligible to the Election, Which is Scheduled to Take Place on Thursday.

The Brantford-Brant Election Office is at 225 Henry St., Building 1, Open from 10 am to 8 pm on monday and tuesday. In Person voting ends on wednesday at 6 pm

The Haldimand-Norfolk Election Office is at Simcoe Town Center, Unit 117-120, 117-150 West St. In Simcoe, Which is open from 10 am to 8 pm on worldly and tuesday. In Person voting ends on wednesday at 6 pm

Those voting on election day are encouraged to check their assigned voting rental before they go to vote by entering their post code in voting information service at elections.on.ca, by downloading the elections ontario app or by consulting their voter information card, which has been BEEN MAILED TO ALL REGISTERED VOTARS.

Vote information cards are intended to make the process easier on election day but are not requirement to vote.

Every Canadian Citizen who is 18 Years of Age or Older on Feb. 27 And who is an Ontario Resident is Eligible to vote.

Voting on election day can be from 9 am to 9 pm
