Israel is discussing the ‘Türkiye’ report on Benjamin Netanyahu’s desk. The Nagel Committee, established under the instructions of Netanyahu, saw Turkey as a threat and warned the Tel Aviv administration. According to the report, which suggests that Turkey may be a greater threat than Iran, there is also concern that the famous Iron Dome defense system will not be sufficient in the event of a possible conflict.

According to The Jerusalem Post newspaper, in the latest report of the Nagel Committee on the defense budget and security strategy, it was claimed that the Tel Aviv administration should be prepared for a direct conflict with Türkiye.
The report prepared by the Nagel Committee was presented to Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich yesterday.
The report claimed that Turkey acted with the ambition of regaining its influence from the Ottoman period, and claimed that the situation in question could lead to increased tensions with Israel and possibly turn into a conflict.
THEY SEE TURKEY AS A THREAT
The report suggests that there is a risk that Syrian opposition groups will form an alliance with Turkey and pose a new and powerful threat to Israel’s security, and that “the threat from Syria may become even more dangerous than the Iranian threat.” The statement was included.
The report prepared by the Nagel Committee recommended that the defense budget be increased by up to 15 billion shekels (about $4.14 billion) annually over the next 5 years in order to cope with “the challenges posed by Turkey” as well as other regional threats.

Regarding the report presented to him, Netanyahu said, “We are witnessing radical changes in the Middle East. Iran has been our biggest threat for a long time, but new powers are entering the arena and we must be prepared for unexpected situations. This report offers us a road map to secure Israel’s future.” .” he said.
“LET’S STRENGTHEN OUR MILITARY CAPABILITIES”
The report argued that military capabilities should be strengthened in preparation for a possible conflict with Turkey, and underlined that Israel should purchase additional F-15 warplanes, refueling planes, unmanned aerial vehicles and satellites to strengthen its long-range strike capability.
The report underlined that the capabilities of air defense systems such as the short-medium range Iron Dome, the medium-long range David Sling produced with the USA, Arrow systems and the Iron Beam laser-based missile defense system need to be improved.
On the other hand, the report also stated that a fortified security barrier should be built along the Jordan Valley, which would mark a significant change in Israel’s defense strategy, despite the possible diplomatic consequences with Jordan.
