The Turkish Air Force attacks the city of Kobane in northern Syria. Kobane is located next to the Turkish border and is controlled by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).
Kobane “is being bombarded by Turkish aircraft,” writes Farhad Shami, spokesperson for the Kurdish-led military alliance SDF, in a post on Twitter, according to TT.
Turkey has accused the PKK and YPG of being behind the attack in central Istanbul – something both groups deny.
Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said after the attack in Istanbul, in which six people died, that the woman suspected of being behind the attack received her order from Kobane. According to Soylu, it is also in Kobane that the PKK has its headquarters in Syria.
– We judge that the order came from Kobane, he said according to the public service channel TRT.
