The ratification of Sweden’s NATO membership is on the agenda of the parliament returning from the Turkish recess today, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter tells.

However, ratification is the last item on the agenda, in item 42. It is therefore unclear whether the parliament will have time to deal with the matter today, Tuesday.

Ylen Turkey’s next editor Tom Kankkonen confirm that the topic is on the agenda. Above are various agreements that came from the foreign affairs committee to the parliament, which according to Kankkonen may be approved quickly.

– The fact that Sweden’s NATO membership is on the agenda is a sign that the membership will probably be approved in the next few days, says Kankkonen.

Turkey’s foreign affairs committee gave the green light to the ratification of Sweden’s NATO membership on Boxing Day.

After approval by the Parliament, the agreement goes to the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for approval. This may take a day or two.

Hungary has not yet accepted Sweden’s membership. Hungarian news website Telex reports deputy prime minister Zsolt Semjénin the comment that the government will not present the approval of Sweden’s NATO membership to the parliament during the spring.
