16th Europa-Orient / For the East-West Friendship and Peace Rally The Turkey stage started with a ceremony held at Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul on 12 May.
Under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Presidency for EU Affairs TÜVTÜRK’The Turkey stage of the Europa-Orient / East-West Friendship and Peace Rally, which was organized with the support of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, started with the start given in Istanbul Sultanahmet Square. The start ceremony of the Turkey stage of the rally, which was held for the 16th time this year, was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Deputy Governor of Istanbul Governorship Niyazi Erten, TÜVTÜRK General Manager Kemal Ören, East-West Friendship and Peace Rally Association President Nadir Serin, Europa -Orient Rallye Association President Wilfred Gehr attended.
80 competitors are ready for the East-West Friendship and Peace Rally
Contributing to the promotion of our country’s touristic, natural, cultural and historical values, the Rally can participate in old vehicles with a value of less than 1,111 Euros. In the rally, teams are not allowed to take the highway along the route. In the Friendship and Peace Rally, where there is no competition based on time or speed, the competitors try to fulfill the social duties set on the route. Rally this year There are 40 cars and 80 competitors from 8 countries.
