During Thursday morning, a doll representing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was hung outside Stockholm City Hall.
“Now take the chance and resign, so you don’t end up upside down in Taksim Square!”, writes the Rojava Committees on Twitter. The network also posted a video of the protest.
The incident has caused the Turkish media to go into a spin and Turkey is now accusing Sweden of breach of promise, reports DN.
Erdogan’s spokesperson, Fahrettin Altun, writes on Twitter that “this is proof that the Swedish authorities have not taken the necessary steps against terrorism, as they have claimed lately”. He also writes that Sweden needs to keep its promises to join NATO.
