President Sauli Niinistö will make a working visit to Turkey on Thursday and Friday.
At the beginning of the trip, Niinistö will visit the earthquake region of Southeastern Turkey. On Friday, Niinistö will meet the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul.
The topic of discussion is the NATO membership of Finland and Sweden. In addition, the presidents will talk about the reconstruction after the earthquake, the geopolitical situation and the bilateral relations between Finland and Turkey.
The foreign minister is also on the trip Pekka Haavisto (green).
