News agency Bloomberg (you will switch to another service) according to information, Turkey would make a decision on the ratification of Finland’s NATO membership by March at the latest – possibly without Sweden.

President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Finland has done enough to solve the security problems so that Turkey could ratify Finland’s membership, anonymous people who commented on the matter told Bloomberg.

According to Bloomberg’s sources, the announcement on the ratification of Finland’s membership could come before the Turkish parliament goes on break in mid-March. Turkish parliamentary elections are in May.

The Bloomberg news agency does not specify who the sources it uses are.

Turkey’s attitude towards Sweden’s NATO membership has become even more reserved after a doll representing Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was hung in front of the Stockholm City Hall. Later a far-right Rasmus Paludan burned the Koran in his demonstration.

Throughout the membership process, Finland and Sweden have expressed their desire to join NATO together.

Most recently, yesterday, the Prime Minister Sanna Marin assured this when visiting the Swedish Prime Minister by Ulf Kristersson in Stockholm.
