Turkey admits that he has arrested a Swedish journalist Joakim Medinin in connection with major demonstrations. The journalist is accused of terrorist connections and the insult of the president, says Turkish Presidential Chancellor.
According to the Presidential Chancellor, the journalist is known to have contact with the Kurdish organization PKK, which Turkey considers to be a terrorist organization.
– This arrest has no connection with journalistic activities, says a news release from the Presidential Chancellery.
The reporter works for the Swedish newspaper Dagens ETC. After arriving in Turkey on Thursday, the reporter sent a message to the editorial office he said he would have to interrogate. He was arrested immediately at the airport after his aircraft landed.

In Turkey, nearly 1,500 people have been arrested in demonstrations that began about a week ago. The demonstrations have opposed the mayor of Istanbul Ekrem ̇mamoğlu catching and imprisonment.
Many journalists following the demonstrations have also been arrested in Turkey. Prior to catching the Swedish journalist, Turkey released 11 journalists who had been caught on Monday while reporting on demonstrations.
The ̇mamoğlu suspected of corruption was arrested last week. The charges are considered political because he is a president of Turkey’s self -ruling Recep Tayyip Erdoğanin Political competitor.
Imamoglu’s arrest has led to massive demonstrations that require the release of ̇mamoğlu and the resignation of the Erdoğan government.
