In Tunisia, to commemorate January 23, National Day for the Abolition of Slavery in Tunisia, human rights NGOs brought together the families of political detainees who fought against racism and discrimination to have them testify in Tunis . These nine detainees, community activists, columnists and even municipal councilors were arrested a few months apart, officially on suspicion of financial offenses, mismanagement or illegal accommodation of migrants. But their supporters denounce, through their arrests, a half-hidden criminalization of solidarity towards migrants.
