It has been announced that the attacker, who shot himself after killing 4 people in a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was a person who blamed the surgeon for the pain that continued after his recent back surgery.
Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin stated that the attacker had called the clinic several times, complaining of pain after a recent back surgery.
Police said the person purchased an AR-type rifle hours before he opened fire at the hospital.
Franklin, who performed the surgery, Dr. Alongside Preston Phillips, another doctor, a counselor, and a patient were also killed, he said.
Franklin said, “The suspect received a letter clearly stating that he had come to kill Dr. Phillips and anyone who stood in his way. He was blaming Dr. Phillips for his continued pain after the surgery.”
Authorities noted that the attacker was carrying a rifle and a pistol.
Police said the victims and the attacker were found on the second floor of the hospital in Tulsa, where the orthopedic clinic is located. Tulsa Deputy Police Chief Eric Dalgleish stated that the assailant, whose name has not been released, shot himself.
Commissioner Richard Meulenberg also reported several injuries and a “horrible scene” at the medical facility. The exact number of injured is not yet known.
