Two earthquakes of magnitude 6.9 and 7.1 have rocked southwestern Japan.
Tsunami advisories have been declared for the southwest coast of Japan due to earthquakes public radio NHK tells.
People are instructed to leave coasts and river estuaries in tsunami risk areas.
The waves have already possibly reached part of the southern coast of Japan. They are predicted to remain about one meter tall.
