Campbell, a trustee since 2006, served on several board committees before becoming vice-chair in 2018-19 and 2019-20, then board chair in 2020-22.

Robertson, elected as a trustee in 2022, serves on the special education advisory and parent involvement committees.

Campbell, thanking his fellow trustees for their continued commitment to supporting student achievement and well-being, acknowledged the challenges and opportunities the board has faced and will face.

“Though I don’t believe the year ahead will be free from challenges, I know that the work is of great importance, and I have confidence in this group of trustees to come together and make decisions that support the LKDSB mission, allowing for us to truly foster success for every student, every day,” he said.

Robertson expressed gratitude for fellow trustees’ support.

“I will continue to ensure that student success and well-being are top priority when it comes to all considerations made by the board,” she said. “I also plan to focus on building confidence with the communities we serve through open and honest communication, and transparent processes.”

Education director John Howitt congratulated the two trustees.

“The role of the board is to provide governance, much like a compass that provides direction for the operational work of the administration,” he said. “I am very optimistic that with the support of trustees, the efforts made by all LKDSB staff to support students in their learning and overall well-being will have a significant positive impact.”

The Lambton-Kent board serves 21,000 pupils and students in 64 elementary and high schools in Lambton County, including Sarnia, and Chatham-Kent, its website says.
