Former US President and Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke from behind bulletproof glass at the first rally following the assassination attempt in North Carolina.
The meters wide glass placed on the stage protected the entire podium against any attack.
On the other hand, snipers were placed on the roofs of the buildings surrounding the stage.
ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON TRUMP
Former US President Donald Trump was attacked with a gun while addressing his supporters at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. One person attending the rally was killed and two people were injured. The US Secret Service announced that the attacker was neutralized.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) described the attack as an assassination attempt and announced that the person who attempted the attack and was killed at the scene was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
Following the shooting of former US President Donald Trump during an election rally, US Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned on July 23.
Roland Rowe, who succeeded Cheatle as Acting Director, testified to a Senate committee on July 30 regarding the assassination attempt, stating that he “could not defend” why the rooftop where the assassination attempt on Trump was carried out was not secured. (AA)
