Trump won big on Haley’s home turf

– I am not giving up this fight, not when a majority of Americans dislike Donald Trump and Joe Biden, says Nikki Haley in a speech to her supporters after the loss.

The AP news agency and also the American media CNN and NBC predicted, almost the minute the polls closed, that Trump had won. No votes were then counted but Trump was declared, without reservations, as the clear winner.

When 92 percent of the votes were counted four hours later, at 05.30 in the morning Swedish time, Trump had a support of just over 60.1 percent and Haley 39.3 percent.

Can celebrate for 15 minutes

Donald Trump waited only a short time after the election ended before commenting on his presumed victory, the fifth of the primaries and tests held so far on the road to who will challenge the president, Democrat Joe Biden, in the November election.

– I have never seen the Republican Party as united as it is right now. You can celebrate for about 15 minutes, but then we have to get back to work, Trump said.

Next, primaries await as early as Tuesday, February 27 in Michigan. And in early March, the so-called Super Tuesday with about 15 primaries and nomination meetings for the Republican Party, it can all be decided. But until then, Haley says she intends to persevere.
