US President Joe Biden warns that Donald Trump will question the results of the November election if he loses.

– Hopeless losers are never gracious, he says in an interview with the New Yorker magazine.

Former President Donald Trump, 77, who by all accounts looks set to be the Republican candidate in the fall election, continues with the lies that the 2020 election was “stolen” by the Democrats and that he himself won, by far.

– I think he will do anything to try to win. If — and when — I win, I think he’s going to contest it,” Biden said.

In the interview, Biden defends his decision to run for a second term despite polls showing voters are increasingly concerned about his age.

– If you thought you were best suited to defeat someone who, if the person won, would change the foundations of America, what would you do?, Biden, 81, answers rhetorically.

After falling behind Trump in a series of recent polls and failing to get paid by voters for the economic success, Biden has increasingly focused on attacking Trump as a threat to democracy.

He dismisses concerns that his campaign would be overconfident. He claims that the media wrote him off as a possible winner in 2020 against Trump and similarly in the midterm elections and in other elections in 2022 and 2023 – all of which ended in wins for him and the Democrats.

– I am the only one who has ever beaten him. And I will do it again, he says.
