Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian announced on Sunday that Iran completely opposes talks with the United States and the country’s nuclear program.
The answer, which was also sent in letter form through agents in Oman, followed Trump’s written proposition earlier in March.
– We do not want to avoid conversations, it is previous promise of promise that is the problem. They (USA) must prove that they can build up trust, Iran’s president said in a televised statement.
Trump’s view of the issue came in an interview with the US broadcaster NBC:
– If they do not agree on a settlement, it will be bombed, and the bombings will be to an extent they have never seen before.
Alarm about manufacturing – Iran denies
In the past, Trump has threatened both financial and military efforts against Iran if Tehran rejects a settlement on the country’s nuclear program.
During his first term as President, Trump unilaterally returned the United States from an agreement with Iran from 2015. The agreement meant that sanctions relief was changed to restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program.
Since then, several alarms have come that Iran is about to manufacture nuclear weapons – something that the regime in Tehran refuses.
