All US aid is halted for 90 days. The decision is one of all the decrees that newly elected President Donald Trump signed during his first day on the job.
According to Trump, the aid is stopped in order to see if the projects are in line with his political goals.
“No additional US foreign aid shall be disbursed in a manner that is not fully consistent with the foreign policy of the President of the United States,” he writes.
However, it is unclear how much of the aid is affected because many projects have already been approved by Congress and allocated money.
