An employee of Donald Trump’s summer residence and private club Mar-a-Lago in Florida is expected to make his first appearance in court on Monday. Carlos De Oliveira, property manager at Mar-a-Lago, is accused of helping Trump delete footage from surveillance cameras. The images were thus withheld from the investigators who are investigating the ex-president’s handling of classified documents.

De Oliveira was added to the indictment last week, along with Donald Trump’s parking attendant Walt Nauta. The indictment alleges that Trump illegally stored hundreds of classified documents in his residence after he left the White House, and that he attempted to complicate the investigation into the handling of the documents. The charges against Carlos De Oliviera concern, among other things, attempts to obstruct the investigation and having lied to investigators.

Donald Trump denies telling employees to delete surveillance footage. The trial against the ex-president will be held in May.
