Trump showed up with a bandaged ear – after the assassination attempt

Trump was greeted by a big cheer and applause from the audience at the party convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday morning Swedish time.

Surrounded by a large number of bodyguards and with his right ear covered in a large white bandage, Trump strolled slowly into the arena and took his seat next to his running mate J. D Vance.

    Trump announced his decision to select Vance on his social media platform Truth Social on Monday, writing that the decision comes “after much deliberation and thought, and in consideration of the tremendous talents of many others.”

    President Joe Biden commented on Trump’s election, saying that “he is a clone of Trump on the issues.”

    39-year-old JD Vance, who has a background as a venture capitalist, was one of the early favorites for the post.

    – He is quite similar to Donald Trump in many respects, very popular among the party’s “Make America great again” base, i.e. the Trump supporters, said SVT’s USA correspondent Fouad Youcefi on Monday.

    Thomas Matthew Crooks was shot dead

    One person died from the shots fired by Thomas Matthew Crooks at Trump and two were seriously injured. The 20-year-old shooter was shot dead by the Secret Service shortly afterwards.

    Crooks lived in Bethel Park, about an hour from Butler where the crime took place. The motive behind the attempted murder remains unclear and the FBI is investigating the incident as attempted murder and domestic terrorism.

    The Secret Service has faced harsh criticism after the incident and many wonder how the incident could have happened.
