At the beginning of the week, Donald Trump and his administration were hit by the first real scandal of this term.
Journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, editor -in -chief The Atlantic magazine, was accidentally invited into a secret group chat by security adviser Mike Waltz.
Several of the administration’s peaks participated in the chat, including the Minister of Defense and the Vice President, and discussed attacks in Yemen.

Be really damned
According to sources of Politico Trump will be furious during a meeting behind closed doors on Tuesday.
Outwardly, the president must have kept the mask but at the current meeting he must have been very pissed.
However, he was not angry that an outside person was invited to the chat.
According to three people with transparency in the situation-who were granted anonymity by Politico-Trump was instead angry that Mike Waltz had at all atlantic chief chief Jeffrey Goldberg’s number saved on his phone.
“The president was pissed on how Waltz could be so stupid,” says one of the sources of Politico.
Over the past two months, the administration has been operated with more discipline, loyalty and structure than during Trump’s chaotic first term.
The event with the chat leak is the first real fad.
“Built careers on lies”
During Tuesday evening, it was communicated that the White House is backing up Waltz. Trump gave brief interviews with NBC News and Fox News, where he said he will support his security adviser.
At the same time, Waltz participated in a meeting with some other Trump’s employees on Tuesday.
– There are many journalists in this city who have built their careers in finding lies. This specific person I have never met, does not feel, has never communicated. We are currently investigating how in the world he ended up in this room, Waltz said during the meeting.
Trump has continued to back up his adviser and called Waltz “a very good man”, he suggested he had been unfairly attacked.
But despite the friendly and supportive tone outward, several of Trump’s employees still warn that this may not be the end of Mike Waltz’s problem.
It reports Politico.

Disresent the newspaper
Another source, which was also granted anonymity by Politico, said that the incident created substantial tensions between Mike Waltz and Trump’s innermost circuit.
The leak, although unintentional, became even more problematic for Mike Waltz because journalist Jeffrey Goldberg is from the newspaper The Atlantic.
The president has long been anger against The Atlantic after an article in the newspaper where anonymous sources claimed that he should have called American soldiers who died in war for “cloths and losers”.
The Atlantic was also one of the first leading media that demanded that Trump be faced with national law during his first term. They had the word “prosecute” in large, red letters on the cover in March 2019.
Trump and his co -workers have long been suspicious of leaks and look with great skepticism about employees who talk to some journalists – or who have contact with reporters outside their area of responsibility.
Other preview now
Unlike the previous administration, Trump’s second term has so far been relatively free of leaks. According to Politico, it has been attributed to Chief of Staff Susie Wile’s leadership.
Trump’s co -workers were also pre -examined this time more carefully for loyalty before getting their positions.
According to Politico, an employee must even have gone as far as reviewing the phone of a person they suspected of leaking information – in an attempt to identify which journalist the person was last in touch with.
