The White House pauses all government grants and loans as the new government under Donald Trump will initiate an “ideological review” of expenditure.
The decision is expected to affect trillion dollars and is feared to affect, among other things, research in healthcare and education programs.
The payment break will take effect during Tuesday evening. The initiative is justified in a statement by the White House’s acting budget manager Matthew Vaeth with the use of state resources to promote, among other things, “Marxist justice policy” and transideology is a waste of taxpayers’ money.
However, it is not yet certain which actors are affected, which has created great uncertainty about different ministries, authorities, organizations and companies that depend on government grants and loans, the AP writes.
