US presidential candidate Donald Trump says he can support the deployment of the military to stop radical left-wing groups.

– I think a bigger problem is internal enemies, more than the people who come to us to destroy our country, Trump said in an interview with the television company Fox News on Sunday.

The answer followed a question about what developments Trump expects on and after election day in the United States on November 5. President Joe Biden said last week that he expects a “free and fair election”, but that he was not sure that the development will be “peaceful”.

Trump chose to turn the question around:

– We have some really nasty people, some really sick people, radical left-wing lunatics. I think they /…/ should be able to be taken care of by – if necessary – the National Guard or if forced by the military, Trump said in the interview with the conservative television company.

A spokesperson for opposing candidate Kamala Harris, Ian Sams, responded quickly:

– Donald Trump implies that American citizens are worse “enemies” than our foreign adversaries, and that we should deploy the military against them.
