Donald Trump’s lawyers request that the decision on what punishment the ex-president should receive in the case of payment of hush money to Stormy Daniels be postponed. They also want the sentence to be vacated. This is according to sources for the AP news agency.

The request was submitted to the New York court after the Supreme Court issued its decision on the view of immunity from prosecution for former presidents.

At the end of May, Trump was declared guilty, by a jury, on all 34 charges in the case. He is the first president convicted of a felony.

The sentence is to be announced on July 11, but Trump’s lawyers now want it to be postponed and for the judge to go through the case again in light of HD’s verdict. During the negotiations, the lawyers wanted to exclude some evidence that they claimed was from Trump’s time as president.

The lawsuit concerned allegations that Trump ordered payments to people, primarily porn actress Stormy Daniels – who threatened to leak sensitive information about him during the 2016 presidential campaign – and then tried to hide it in the books of his companies.
