The US president states that he will introduce 25 percent customs duties to the automotive industry, which includes all vehicles manufactured outside the United States. The message came during a press conference in the White House on Wednesday.

“We’re the piggy bank all stealing from”

Trump also states that he intends to allow countries that conduct business in the United States to pay.

– We will let countries that take our jobs and our wealth to pay, he says, states that the decision will make the United States “very wealthy”.

– We are the piggy bank that everyone steals from, he says.

Entry April 2

Trump states that other countries can avoid customs by companies by companies manufacturing their cars in the United States.

– I think it will lead to more vehicles being manufactured in the same place, he says.

The US president has already introduced 20 percent import tax on Chinese goods and Canada and Mexico have also been covered with 25 percent customs duties.

But Chinese customs can be eased if the countries were to reach an agreement on Tiktok, says the president.

“It sounds like something I could do,” Trump said during the press conference.

The new tariffs on vehicles are expected to enter into force on April 2, one day the president previously referred to as “US liberation day”.
