Donald Trump has paid the bail sum of 175 million dollars.
The former president was convicted in a civil case of inflating his assets.
Initially, he was to pay 464 million dollars, but the sum was lowered.
Trump has previously been convicted of inflating the value of the family business’s assets together with his sons and was also sentenced to a business ban in the state of New York.
He was also sentenced to pay a sum of 355 million dollars, but which due to interest rose to 464 million dollars, corresponding to five billion Swedish kronor. Trump’s lawyers assessed that it was “impossible” to pay the sum within the 30 days it was due.
At the end of March, the amount was reduced to $175 million and Trump was given 10 days to pay, something he has now done according to CNN. Should the ruling stand after Trump appeals, he will have to pay them the original sum of $464 million.
