US President-elect Donald Trump has left Florida for Washington. On Monday, he will take over the White House.
Trump boarded a US government plane bound for Washington on Saturday with his wife Melania Trump and their son Barron. The plane, of the C-32 type, has been named “Special air mission 47” – a reference to Trump becoming the 47th president of the United States on Monday.
The theme of his inauguration speech will be “unity and strength” as well as the watchword “justice,” Trump said in a telephone interview with NBC News on Saturday.
Trump also said he will sign a “record number” of documents and orders during his first day in the White House, stressing that his promised mass deportations of undocumented immigrants are a high priority.
– It will start very early, very quickly, he said.
As Trump traveled north, thousands of protesters gathered in Washington to show their displeasure at Trump’s re-inauguration.
