Former US President Donald Trump and his family have not reported gifts for a total value of more than 250,000 dollars, equivalent to roughly 2.6 million kroner, that they received from the governments of other countries while Trump was president, Democrats claim.

Among other things, it concerns gold golf clubs from Japan and swords from Saudi royalty.

The items are among about 100 gifts listed by members of a committee in the House of Representatives.

Democrat Jamie Raskin criticizes the former presidential administration’s “shameless disregard for the rule of law and its systematic mismanagement of large gifts from the governments of other countries.”

Even more broadly from Democrats, there are misgivings about the gifts.

“The discovery of these unreported gifts raises significant questions about why former President Trump did not disclose these gifts to the public, as required by federal law,” House Democrats said in a statement.
