Should Donald Trump run in the US presidential election in 2024?

The answer is expected to come at three o’clock on Wednesday morning Swedish time. The location of the announcement is his residence Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

The odds are low, according to those closest to him, that he will run again.

The 76-year-old former president, hotelier and reality TV host is believed to be defying increasingly strong voices within the Republican Party trying to persuade him not to run again.

But his close adviser, Jason Miller, is confident of his cause on Monday:

– President Trump will announce on Tuesday (Wednesday morning Swedish time) that he is running for president.

“Professional Speech”

Miller says Trump will deliver a statesmanlike, proper and “very professional” speech from his home at Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida.

Many within his own party have tried to get him to at least postpone an announcement after the mid-term elections in the United States that were supposed to be a Republican victory – but ended with the party not even getting a majority in the Senate.

Even Trump’s former Vice President Mike Pence publicly airs his disapproval. Pence, on the other hand, also wants to be president.

Quick throws

Neither do the congressional hearings about the storming of the Capitol in January 2021 and his impact then seem to worry Trump.

Trump in and of himself is known for quick and erratic throws both in terms of thought and decision.

But there is no uncertainty about Trump’s high thoughts about himself, or as he says about the speech he is expected to deliver:

– It is perhaps the most important speech in the history of the United States.
