The next president of the United States Donald Trump has chosen By Brendan Carr To head the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

In his statement, Trump calls Carr, who is known as a critic of large technology companies, a warrior of freedom of speech.

Carr has been the Republican representative on the FCC’s executive board since Trump’s first term. The agency regulates activities related to radio and television frequencies, among other things.

Carr wrote the FCC chapter in the controversial Project 2025 plan, in which he called for regulation of major tech companies such as Meta, Google and Apple.
