Möregårdh’s success
The 22-year-old became the first Swede in 24 years to reach an Olympic singles final and was then part of the team that went to Sweden’s first ever Olympic final in the team game. But both times Möregårdh had to settle for Olympic silver after final losses.

Since then, he has been hailed as a great blue-yellow Olympic hero. But now it’s back to everyday life for Truls and it’s not at all easy to be a ping pong pro these days.
– I basically go backwards financially every time I’m out competing because I have to pay everything myself, he said already in the Olympic successes.
Truls asks for help
Now Möregårdh hopes that the great Olympic success and the enormous interest of the Swedish people will be able to make the sport grow. And above all bring in more money for the practitioners.
– Hopefully it has made more people want to come in and help with my investment. I hope that it is possible to find some fun solutions, he says to Expressen.
– At the same time, I shouldn’t sit and complain too much. I’m fine with club teams and stuff like that. But of course, in order for it to get even better and for you to feel that it won’t affect me so much in the future, help is needed.

Truls Möregårdh also has a burning interest in savings when it comes to the financial part. For him, it is a very important part of everyday life and life alongside sport.
– I hope that most young people are interested. It’s super important. I have always thought about my money and always dared to talk about money with family and relatives. I think that we friends need to talk to each other about the economy and we have always been very good at doing that. You have to keep track of whether you can really afford to eat out or have a coffee and so on, he says to the evening newspaper.
