Möregårdh also reveals a “luxury gift” he bought as a result of this summer’s success. Truls Möregårdh in the 2024 Olympics
The 2024 Olympics in Paris meant great success for the big star Möregårdh. He left the French capital with two silver medals. In the round of 32, he had to face the nightmare opponent in the world number one Wang Chuqin – the match ended in a huge mess when Möregårdh went on. After that, Möregårdh took victory after victory, which eventually led to a final place. The challenge in the final was too tough and he had to settle for a silver medal.
Most people probably thought that Möregårdh’s championship was over – and that the upcoming matches in the team tournament would mostly be a deceleration after the senseless sensation he had already caused. But Möregårdh had other plans, along with Anton Källberg and Christian Karlsson you did what no one thought was possible when you made it to the final.
The Games thus ended with two silver medals for the great talent.

Something that has made Möregårdh famous, apart from his ping pong talent, is his reactions to both won and lost balls. He often lives into balls and the reactions can create opinions among opponents and spectators – they can appear provocative. Nyheter24 has asked Möregårdh if there is something in him trying to provoke or psych out his opponents with his reactions.
– During the Olympics, everything was genuine and came from the heart. There is so much life in the hall, I don’t think my opponents heard me, it’s nothing to think about.
Can you ever feel “damn what he’s trying to provoke now” about an opponent?
– No, not really, I’ve never thought about what anyone does. Everyone has their own concerns, both on the table and outside, you have your personal stuff.
Truls Möregårdh has had to endure criticism
Möregårdh then mentions that he himself has been criticized for his behavior on the field.
– There are many who have jumped on how I am in the “hagen” as well. When I was younger, I was a bit more arrogant and stood quite quietly and won a lot that way. There were many who cared about it, would talk about it having their stuff against me and tell me so. Everyone is who they are and everyone is allowed to be who they are in the pasture and I couldn’t care less about how people are. You can focus on your own.
