Now the ping pong hero admits which is his favorite sport.
It was a pure joy to follow Truls Möregårdh and his progress during the Summer Olympics. The 22-year-old created total ping-pong fever throughout the country on his way to double Olympic finals.
Möregårdh’s success
Möregårdh played for the gold medal in both singles and team play, but had to settle for double Olympic silver. He was nevertheless hailed as one of the biggest heroes during the Paris Olympics.

The success has continued since then for the blue-yellow favorite Truls. He recently won both European Championship silver and European Championship bronze in Austria, adding to his fine medal collection at such a young age.
Trul’s favorite sport
Truls Möregårdh has long been a great talent in table tennis and it is so nice to see him live out his full potential as one of the world’s best players. It is clear that he really loves his sport, but now another interest is also revealed.

The Swedish table tennis star reveals his favorite sport, besides ping-pong.
– It’s mainly basketball right now. I watch an awful lot of NBA, he tells Radiosporten.
– When I won my Olympic silver, I wanted to celebrate in a special way. And it was to see the Olympic basketball final between France and the United States – and I managed to do that. One of my coolest moments in life to see all the big stars and see how they played. I think the sport is so incredibly cool, it’s so physical and it’s so hard. I wanted to try that!
But then Möregårdh admits that he neither has the height for it nor is he particularly good at basketball.
– I had been allowed to be “point guard” and sat third after third. I’ve tried a few times but it’s completely useless. I promise that I will develop on it, he says in the interview.
