After 3 seasons, the celebrated and controversial series hit True Detective has reinvented itself with the currently running 4th season. For the first time, creator Nic Pizzolatto was no longer involved in directing and writing. Instead, all episodes of True Detective: Night Country were co-written and directed by Mexican Issa López.
Among others, Jodie Foster can be seen in front of the camera in her first series role in 50 years. In the interview the acting star now became asked about two films that everyone needs to know. One of her answers is more than surprising, but not necessarily 100 percent serious.

Speaking to Interview Magazine, the actress first said that last year’s Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once is a film everyone should see. This choice is not surprising, as the crazy mix of multiverse action and touching family history landed at the top of some annual best lists in 2022.
The film that Foster then mentions is much more surprising:
Oh, and this is probably number one – the puppet film Team America: World Police.
Although the actress then says that she is known for her sense of humor and the answer is not necessarily entirely seriousit’s surprising that Foster would come up with this film.
With Team America, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone delivered an insane and bitter reckoning with American politics, Islamist terror and other explosive topics in 2004. The parody also became a cult thanks to scenes in which the dolls vomit excessively:
