A snowstorm has moved in over Western Sweden and caused traffic disruptions.
Now several trucks are lined up, stuck in the snow, outside Uddevalla.
– There is 20 centimeters of snow, so it is blocked in all directions and edges, rescue leader Tomas Johansson tells The Express.
Several trucks have become stuck in the snow on the Bratterödsleden outside Uddevalla due to the snowstorm that moved in over Västra Götaland.
– There are 10-15 vehicles standing on the hill at Bratteröd that we are pulling now, says Tomas Johansson to Expressen.
The trucks have been stuck since 05:00 this morning and a salvage operation is now underway.
After that, the road will be plowed before other traffic can get through, writes the Swedish Transport Agency. A forecast is set for 09.15. In addition to the trucks, several other traffic problems have been noted, such as canceled trains and cars that have slipped off the road.
“Approaching storm force”
SMHI has issued a yellow warning for snow storms in western Götaland, northern Skåne, southern Värmland and western Östergötland during the night and morning.
– What makes it extra difficult is the wind. It has been close to storm force on the west coast, says TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson, who warns against going out into traffic.
The warning is valid until 10 a.m., then the storm moves east – towards Gotland.
– At times the snowfall can be heavy and there can be large amounts of snow locally and it is also windy. It is not impossible that the wind can reach storm force in the gusts of wind on Gotland, says Linda Eriksson.
That warning is in effect until 7 p.m. tonight.
