There are extensive queues on the E4 at the height of Hölö south of Södertälje.
– We saw that it started to smoke a little and then I said that we should turn on the hazard lights. We stood a hundred meters away as we have a daughter in the car and wanted to be careful. It maybe took 20 seconds before it started to burn properly, says Emilija Romaité, who saw the fire up close to TV4 Nyheterna.
The truck is northbound and the road is currently closed. According to the Swedish Transport Agency’s forecast, a lane can be opened to traffic at 12:15 at the earliest.
It is not yet known how the fire started and if anyone was injured.
