“The sharp slowdown in the trend of commercial vehicle registrations recorded in October once again demonstrates the irreconcilability of discontinuous and uncertain policies for a sector called upon to face the challenge of the ecological transition – he comments Luca Sra, ANFIA delegate for goods transport –. The Executive’s choice to cut the funds already allocated and intended for the automotive sector is therefore incomprehensible, thus lacking support for small and medium-sized businesses that invest in latest generation commercial vehicles, the production of which in Italy represents European excellence. Similarly, disappointment is expressed at the failure to include an adequate allocation for road transport in the budget bill currently under discussion, as already requested by the main automotive and sector associations. In order to respond to the challenge of decarbonisation, it will be necessary to increase the resources available for the sector by allocating them to the structuring of a multi-year fund that supports companies in renewing their fleet with low and zero emission vehicles, starting with natural gas engines. compressed or liquefied or the latest generation diesel ones, both compatible with the respective biofuels – biomethane and HVO. At the same time, the invitation to evaluate the reintroduction of tax breaks for investments in sustainable vehicular capital goods is renewed”.

“The month of October continues to record a decline in the Italian market of trailers and semi-trailers which, however, performed better than in other European countries – he states Massimo Menci, president of the ANFIA Trailer Section –. In light of these data, in addition to the total absence in the budget law of resources dedicated to the modernization of the circulating fleet and the consequent decarbonisation
of the sector, there is an urgent need to adopt the regulation implementing the Highway Code for the free movement of vehicles at 18m which, with a reduction in journeys, will guarantee greater road safety and a containment of environmental impacts. We also hope that the MIT will quickly define the directorial decree for the definition of the times and methods of booking the 25 million allocated by the Ministerial Decree
Investments of 2024″.
