Truck crashed into government building – “intentionally”

One person has been killed and more than ten injured after a stolen truck drove into a government building in the city of Brenham, northwest of Houston, in the US state of Texas.

The driver had been denied a commercial driver’s license renewal at the building Thursday, authorities said.

Pictures from the scene show extensive damage at the entrance to the building, where an office where driver’s licenses are issued is located, according to CNN.

The driver of the truck, a 42-year-old man, has been arrested and according to the authorities there is no risk to the public. It is not clear what crimes he will be charged with.

State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst described the incident as a “deliberate, despicable act” in a statement.
