Truck caught fire in Stockholm

A truck caught fire in central Stockholm on Tuesday.
A few minutes after the fire started, it suddenly exploded.
– It exploded like in an action movie, people were curious and a little scared, it was lucky that no one was hurt, says Theo Balzar, 21.

At lunchtime, the police and emergency services were called to Linnègatan in Östermalm due to a fire in a truck, the police write on their website.

Theo Balzar, 21, was at the scene when the truck suddenly caught fire.

– There was a lot of smoke coming from the engine, then someone jumped out of the car. Then I called the fire brigade, says Theo.

Just minutes after he made the call, the truck suddenly exploded.

– It was crazy, many people ran to a shop. It was lucky that no one was injured, says Theo.

The fire service got control of the fire and it should now be extinguished. There is currently nothing to indicate that a crime has been committed, the police write on their website. The truck will be towed from the scene.
