Triumph unveils the superb prototype of its TE 1 electric motorcycle

It took nearly three years to finally discover the prototype of the Triumph TE-1The Future electric motorcycle from the venerable British brand. The wait was long, but it was worth it. We find all theDNA Triumph in an ultra sporty and racy design.

For this project, the manufacturer has partnered with Williams Advanced Engineering, Integral Powertrain and the University of Warwick. Triumph manages the chassis development, Williams that of the battery, Integral the engine and WMG the modelization computer science. Williams explains that he borrowed a certain number of technical solutions from the Formula E to design this 15 kWh battery which, the company assures, will maintain constant performance from 100 to 0% thanks to optimized thermal management.

As for the electric motor designed by Integral, it develops 175 hp and weighs barely 10 kg. In its final version, the Triumph TE-1 will weigh 220 kg. His autonomy will be approximately 190 km and it will use an ultra fast charging device which restores 80% of the battery in just 20 minutes. The video presentation of the prototype allows in particular to discover the charging port hidden in a compartment instead of the tank.

Triumph will now enter what it calls Phase 4 of the development of its electric motorcycle with a series of dyno and track tests over the next six months. We will still have to wait until this summer to discover the livery of the Triumph TE-1 and its specifications.
